WHEREAS, the National Plumbing Code of the Philippines prepared by the National Master Plumbers Association of the Philippines (NAMPAP) and promulgated and issued by the Board for Master Plumbers created under R.A. No. 1378 on January 28, 1959 was approved by the Office of the President in the same year.

WHEREAS, this Code, which has been in existence for almost forty (40) years since its promulgation, has never been amended.

WHEREAS, the NAMPAP in 1994 created a Plumbing Code Committee tasked to amend/revise the National Plumbing Code.

WHEREAS, the NAMPAP in 1999 created a Plumbing Code Review Committee to go over the work of the Plumbing Code Committee.

WHEREAS, the two (2) Committees submitted a œRevised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines  to the Board for Master Plumbers for adoption, promulgation and issuance.

WHEREAS, the Board for Master Plumbers finds the œRevised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines  submitted by the two (2) Committees of the NAMPAP to be in accord with modern technologies in plumbing materials and practice.

WHEREFORE, the Board resolved as it hereby resolves to adopt, promulgate and issue the document denominated as œRevised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines  which shall govern the practice of plumbing in the Philippines, the design, installation and use of plumbing fixtures and materials in buildings and infrastructure projects where such fixtures and materials are necessary.

The Revised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines shall take effect after thirty (30) days following its complete publication in the Official Gazette or in any newspaper of general circulation, whichever is earlier.
