LMP IMPORTED TAX EXEMPT VEHICLES



The Bureau of Import Services informed this Office that tax free motor vehicles imported by the League of Municipalities of the Philippines are being used in violation of the guidelines set in Monetary Board Resolution No. 258. Among these violations are:
1. Non-conversion to left hand drive

2. No proper markings - "For Official Use Only" and "Donated By _____________"

3. Used, Sold or Transferred To Non Government Entities or Private Persons

4. Unregistered
In this connection therefore, you are hereby directed to apprehend all unregistered RHD LMP imported vehicle; vehicles sold, transferred or used by non-government entities or private persons shall be impounded and released only upon clearance from the Bureau of Import Services and payment of the appropriate Customs duties and taxes.

During operations coordinate closely with the local PNP-TMC units in your area and furnish copies of your reports to the Department of Local Government, the Department of Trade and Industry - Bureau of Import Services and the Bureau of Customs.
