[ LTO ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 94-012, March 03, 1994 ]
SAFETY SIGNS TO ALL RIGHT HAND MOTOR VEHICLE
Imported right hand drive motor vehicles are currently being allowed to be registered to offset the shortage of transportation. However, numerous accidents reported have been traced to the inability of the driver to see clearly an on-coming vehicle or pedestrian on his blind side. This threat to public safety is alarming. To consider the safety factor involved in the operation of right hand drive vehicles, the following regulations are hereby promulgated in the operation of such vehicle:
SECTION 2. The sighs shall be made of reflective sheeting materials with letters 5 cm. in height and the sticker measuring no less than 10 cms. by 60 cms. visible and readable from a minimum distance of 50 meters day or night time.
SECTION 3. Any motor vehicle with right hand drive as defined under Sec. 1 hereof found to be violating said regulation or the unit is operated with the driver not being accompanied by an aide shall be imposed the fine of FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (P500.00) on the part of the driver and owner held liable separately.
SECTION 4. All orders, circulars and memoranda in particular AO No. 86AO-004 dated 25 July 1986 and AO No. 90-003 dated 05 March 1990 are hereby amended.
SECTION 5. This Order shall take effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or newspaper of general circulation.
