[ BOC CUSTOMS MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 127-97, March 17, 1997 ]
PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION
Reproduced hereto is the letter dated February 20, 1997 of Mr. Gregorio R. Suarez, Managing Director, Banking Services Sector & Officer-in-Charge, FED, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas relative to the Bureau's request for BSP clearance in connection with the application of International Garment Manufacturing Corp. for renewal of exemption from SGS pre-shipment inspection.
Said request was returned without action since under Amended Joint Order 1-91 particularly paragraph 3 (q) thereof, the requirement to secure BSP clearance for requests for exemption from the pre-shipment inspection requirement on importations of pre-cut fabrics and accessories for processing into finished garment and textile products for export, has been deleted.
In this connection, the BSP is suggesting that the submission of the BSP clearance be deleted as a required supporting document to the Bureau's "Application for Renewal of Accreditation for Exemption from SGS-PSI Scheme."
Be guided accordingly.
