EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN PREPARATIONS WITH PROPOXYPHENE NAPSYLATE FROM THE LIST OF REGULATED DRUGS



Pursuant to the powers vested in it under Sec. 36(a) of RA 6425, as amended, and following its decision arrived at in a meeting of September 16, 1981, the Dangerous Drugs Board hereby excludes from the list of regulated drugs and categorizes as exempt preparations, all combination products containing dextropropoxyphene napsylate the amount of which does not exceed the equivalent of 32.5 mg. of the hydrochloride salt, provided that (a) the other active ingredients in the formulation do not act additively or synergistically to increase the dependence liability of dextropropoxyphene and (b) the dextropropoxyphene napsylate is not in combination with other dangerous drugs or drugs controlled under the 1971 Convention of Psychotropic Substances.

As exempt preparations, these combination products shall be prescribed through the ordinary prescription form wherein shall be stated the name, address, S-2 license number, and privilege tax receipt number of the prescribing physician, as well as the name and address of the patient.

This regulation amends Board Regulation No. 3, series of 1980 and shall take effect upon completion of its publication in a newspaper of general circulation once a week for two consecutive weeks.
