REQUIRING PSYCHOTIC PERSONS VOLUNTEERING FOR TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION TO UNDERGO PSYCHIATRIC MANAGEMENT



Pursuant to the powers vested in the Dangerous Drugs Board under Section 36(a), Article VIII of R.A. 6425, as amended, in relation to Section 30, Article VI of the same Law, the following Regulation is hereby prescribed:

SECTION 1. Any person volunteering or who has volunteered himself for treatment and rehabilitation of his drug dependency and who, after examination by a psychiatrist, is found to be suffering from psychosis shall, without any court order, be transferred to a mental hospital/clinic/institution for psychiatric management until such time that he is cured of his psychosis. After he is cured of his psychosis, he shall be returned to the Center for treatment and rehabilitation of his drug dependence if the need thereof still arises.

SECTION 2. That the drug dependent person referred to in Section 1 hereof shall execute an affidavit agreeing to comply with the provisions of the said Section.

SECTION 3. This Regulation shall take effect after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation once a week for two consecutive weeks.
