[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2005-008, March 17, 2005 ]

OPENING THE ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS/PETITIONS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF FRANCHISES FOR PUB, MINIBUS AND AIRCONDITIONED JEEPNEY SERVICES ON DEVELOPMENTAL ROLL-ON/ROLL-OFF (RO-RO) ROUTE FROM DAVAO CITY TO ISLAND GARDEN CITY OF SAMAL



Per recommendation of LTFRB Region XI and Verbal instructions/approval of the DOTC Secretary, applications/petitions for issuance of CPCs for PUB, Minibus and Air-conditioned Jeepney Services (absolutely no AUVs and Vans) on the Developmental RO-RO route from Davao City to the Island Garden City of Samal is declared OPEN for a maximum of 15 PUV units as the initial Route Measured Capacity (RMC).

Per certification issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Office XI, four (4) marine vessels being operated by Mae Wess Co., Inc. are currently servicing the said RO-RO route.

The following shall be the route structure/description:

 

Davao City- Island Garden City of Samal via Sasa and Kinawitnon Wharves 

 

Agdao Terminal, Sasa Wharf, Kinawitnon Wharf, Kaputian District (Bahak), Penaplata to Samal Island Terminal and back via the same route.

 

Hereunder is the service type distribution:

 

1. PUB/Minibus 10 units
2. Air-conditioned Jeepney 5 units

This Memorandum Circular supersedes any and all issuance inconsistent herewith.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
