[ PPA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 09-2001, February 13, 2001 ]
RESOLUTION 1333 (2000) OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF THE UNITED NATIONS
In its 12 February 2001 letter, the Office of the United Nations and International Organizations (UNIO) of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) requested the Authority to take appropriate actions on the Resolution 1333 (2000) of the Security Council Committee of the United Nations against Afghanistan
Pursuant to the request to undertake appropriate measures to comply with pertinent provisions of Res 1333. you are directed to "prevent the use of ports by Afghanistan flag vessels for any direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer to the territory of Afghanistan arms and related materiel of all types, including weapons and ammunitions, military vehicles and equipment, paramilitary equipment and spare parts for the aforementioned" (Sec. 5[a] of Resolution 1333 [2000]).
Please coordinate with concerned agencies for the proper implementation of this directive Likewise, submit appropriate report/s to Head Office for information and guidance.
This Circular shall take effect immediately and shall remain in effect unless otherwise informed to the contrary by the UNIO, DFA.
For compliance and appropriate action.
