FEMALE VISITORS POSING AS RELATIVES OF INMATES



1. It has been observed that some female NBP visitors, in connivance with the prisoners, pass themselves off as immediate relatives of inmates in order to gain entrance to the Maximum Security Compound, in violation of existing rules and regulations. These impostors are security risks and pose potential danger to the physical health of inmates in view of the recent reports on the alleged HIV infection inside the national penitentiary.

2. In this connection, you are hereby directed to undertake the following measures:

a) All authorized female visitors, thirteen (13) years and above shall be made to submit to the Overseer ™s Office one (1) copy of the latest 2x2 picture for reference purposes

b) The back of the picture shall indicate the visitor ™s full name, date of birth, right thumbmark and her relation to the prisoner she is visiting

c) Female visitor ™s who are pass holder (those whose pictures were previously submitted to the Overseer ™s Office need not comply with the above requirements.
