RESOLVED, to APPROVE the proposed Policy and Procedural Guidelines on the Acceptance of Other Evidence as Bases for the Posting of Loan Repayments, a copy of which is hereto attached and made an integral part of this Resolution.

Objectives:

The admission of other evidence as proofs of payments is intended as a means to:

1. Improve the level of updatedness of individual loan accounts of members by accepting other evidence of repayments; and

2. Update the individual loan ledgers of the members in the database in the absence of the ARLs.

Coverage:

1. Admission of other evidence as bases for posting of repayments to the loan account of members shall only apply to monthly loan repayments that were due and payable prior to July 1997.

2. This policy shall cover:

a. Salary Loan
b. Policy Loan
c. Emergency Loan
d. Stock Purchase Loan
e. Housing Loan

Other Evidences of Loan Repayments:

Acceptable other evidence of payments duly certified shall be as follows:

a. Office Payroll
b. Salary Pay slip
c. Agency Salary Index Card
d. GSIS Manual Loan Ledger Card

All existing PPGs, Board Resolutions, Office Orders and other previous issuances by GSIS which are inconsistent with this PPG are hereby modified, superseded, or repealed accordingly.

This PPG shall take effect upon Board approval.

RESOLVED, FINALLY, to DIRECT the Senior Vice President (Social Insurance Group) to submit a Monthly Progress Report in order that the Board could assess the impact of the decision to accept Other Evidence as bases for the posting of loan repayments.
