NEW PORT PROCEDURES
After a series of meetings and discussions with members of the Port Management Advisory Council (PMAC) of the Port of General Santos and as agreed upon in the 2nd Quarter PMAC Meeting held on 21 June 2000, the New Port Procedures for the Port of General Santos is hereby approved.
It is understood that all cargo handling equipment and service requirements shall be provided by the duly authorized cargo handling operator, the South Cotabato Integrated Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI). As such, SCIPSI shall be entitled to the full payment (100%) for cargo handling services rendered under the existing approved Cargo Handling Tariff in the Port of Genera! Santos.
As agreed in the PMAC Meeting, within a period of one (1) month from the effectivity of the implementation of the New Port Procedures, the shipping sector as well as cargo shippers/consignees shall monitor the performance of SCIPSI and shall immediately take up with SCIPSI and/or inform PPA PMO General Santos any matter concerning the implementation of the New Port Procedures, in particular the capability of SCIPSI to provide the required cargo handling equipment and services on simultaneous operations on vessels without default for lack of cargo handling equipment and gears.
It is also understood that the 65% - 35% cargo handling charges shall apply in cases when SCIPSI fails to provide the needed cargo handling equipment and the shipping company has to provide such equipment.
As further agreed in the PMAC meeting aforementioned, the implementation of the New Port Procedures in the Port of General Santos shall take effect 01 July 2000.
