AN ACT SEPARATING THE MANKAYAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, CABITEN EXTENSION IN BARANGAY CABITEN FROM THE MOTHER SCHOOL, MANKAYAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE BARANGAY POBLACION, BOTH IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MANKAYAN, PROVINCE OFBENGUET AND CONVERTING IT INTO A SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE CABITEN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Mankayan National High School, Cabiten Extension in Barangay Cabiten, Municipality of Mankayan, Province of Benguet is hereby separated from the mother school, Mankayan National High School situated in Barangay Poblacion, Municipality of Mankayan, Province of Benguet and converted to a separate and independent national high school to be known as the Cabiten National High School.

SEC. 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue the rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 3. The new Cabiten National High School shall be headed by a principal to be appointed by the Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports. The incumbent teacher-in-charge shall continue to act as such until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified.

SEC. 4. All assets, fixed and movable, personnel and records of the Mankayan National High School, Cabiten Extension of then Mankayan National High School are hereby transferred to the Cabiten National High School: Provided, That the positions, rights and security of tenure of the personnel employed therein under existing laws prior to separation from the mother school are not impaired.

SEC. 5. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Mankayan National High School- Cabiten Extension. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the continuous operation and maintenance of the Cabiten National High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on August 28, 2000 and February 5, 2001, respectively.
