GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT OF DEPENDENTS OF ACCREDITED GERMAN EMBASSY PERSONNEL



In its letter (No. 178900 on 6 June 2002, the Honorable Department of Foreign Affairs informed this Bureau that œin Berlin (Federal Republic of Germany), dependents of Philippine Embassy personnel are required to secure a work permit from the State Labor Office where the workplace is located, subject to strict rules and regulations applied throughout Germany.  It continues by stating that œdependents who seek gainful employment lose their diplomatic privileges and immunities. 

In the interest of reciprocity, dependents of accredited German Embassy personnel seeking gainful employment in the Philippines shall be required to secure special work permits under Commonwealth Act (C.A.) No. 613, Section 42 (a) (32) and/or alien employment permits Presidential Decree No. 442, as amended.

Non-compliance shall be cause for administrative action by this Bureau under C.A. No. 613, Section 48.

This order shall take effect immediately.
