STRICT IMPLEMENTATION ON THE USE OF THE CARGO ENTRY/WITHDRAWAL PERMIT (CEWP) FOR ALL INCOMING AND OUTGOING CARGOES AT THE PORT OF ZAMBOANGA
The policy of PMO-Zamboanga requiring the accomplishment of the Cargo Entry /With drawal Permit (CEWP) by all shippers and cargo owners for all cargoes entering to and withdrawn from the port has long been issued. It has been observed, however, that the parties involved in the implementation of this policy have not fully implemented said policy resulting in the loss of revenue due the government and the absence of accurate and reliable data necessary in the monitoring of cargoes passing through the port, to mention a few.
In view thereof, PMO Zamboanga hereby issues Memorandum Circular No. 02, s. 2000 for purposes of and directing all shippers and cargo owners to strictly comply with this directive, i e., to secure and accomplish the CEWP duly processed and approved by Port Services Division (PSD) personnel assigned for the purpose whose office is located at the Center Booth near the Entrance Gate along R T Boulevard, this City, to be submitted to the authorities concerned at the gates
Shipping companies are likewise directed to inform their clients on the strict implementation of the above-mentioned requirement to facilitate the entry to and withdrawal from the port of their cargoes so as not to experience delay in the transport of the same.
Failure on the part of cargo owners to accomplish and submit the duly processed and approved CEWP shall constrain the Port Police Officers and Security Guards at the Gates to hold their cargoes until such time that they shall be able to present the requirement.
