[ SRA SUGAR ORDER NO. 7, April 29, 1998 ]

INCREASING THE CLEARANCE FEE FOR IMPORTED SUGAR FROM P 7.70 PER LKG-BAG TO P 10.30 PER LKG-BAG



Whereas, there is a need to amend Section 2 of Sugar Order No. 8, Series of 1994-1995, regarding the payment of clearance fee for imported sugar;

Now, therefore, under and by virtue of the Authority vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), it is hereby ordered that:

SECTION 1.       Section 2 of Sugar Order No. 8, series of 1994-1995, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2.          The importer/consignee of the imported sugar covered by this Sugar Order shall apply for clearance with the SRA prior to the release of the commodity from the Bureau of Customs, by submitting to the SRA a letter-request for clearance, attached thereto all pertinent documents of importation, and paying the total clearance fee of P 10.30 per LKG-Bag (increased from P 7.70 per LKG-Bag) to the following agencies with their corresponding fees, to wit:

2. Sugar Industry Foundation Inc. (SIFI) P 4.75 per LKG-Bag
3. Phil. Sugar Millers Asso., Inc. (PSMA) for Sugar Market Dev. Fund (SMDF) P 1.00 per LKG-Bag
Total P 10.30 per LKG-Bag

The importer/consignee shall pay the abovementioned fees directly to the SRA, SIFI and the PSMA."
SECTION 2.       Other provisions of Sugar Order No. 8, Series of 1994-1995, shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 3.       This Sugar Order shall take effect fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of General Circulation as prescribed under Executive Order No. 159, dated 23 February 1994, of the Office of the President.

SECTION 4.       Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, rules and regulations inconsistent with or contrary to this Sugar Order are hereby revoked, amended or modified accordingly.
