[ BOC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 238-98, July 23, 1998 ]
IMPORT COMMODITY CLEARANCE
Attached is a letter from Mr. Jesus L. Motoomull, Director, Bureau of Product Standards stating that they have received information that the Bureau of Customs has released importation of plywood covered by B/L No. SZPCB 8001719 without the necessary Conditional Release and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC).
As stated in the said letter, please be reminded that the Bureau of Product Standards is still following the usual procedure for ICC wherein a Conditional Release is given pending inspection, testing, evaluation and final issuance of ICC for all products included in the attached List of Philippine National Standards Declared Mandatory.

Quantity/Type : 64,480 pcs., 5.0mmx1220x2440 Utility Grade
Value : US$128,567.08 C & F
Seller: Zhenzhen Everbright Timber Industry, Co., Ltd.
B/Lading No : SZPCB 8001719
Please be informed that we are still following the usual procedure for ICC. We still issue a Conditional Release and subject the shipment to inspection and testing and subsequently issue the ICC after evaluation of the test results.
Enclosed is a list of products under mandatory implementation by the Bureau of Product Standards since they affect life, health and safety of people.
