[ CSC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 34, s. 1998, August 11, 1998 ]
AMENDMENT OF SECTION 8, RULE XVII OF THE OMNIBUS RULES IMPLEMENTING BOOK V OF EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 292 (ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF 1987)
Pursuant to Resolution No. 98-2095 dated Aug. 11, 1998, Section 8, Rule XVII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292 (Administrative Code of 1987) has been amended to conform with the provision of Section 22 (q) on grave offenses of the same Rules as amended by CSC MC No. 23, s. 1998.
Thus, Section 8, Rule XVII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292 (Administrative Code of 1987) now read as follows:

WHEREAS, Section 12 (3), Title (A), Rook V of Executive Order No. 292 (Administrative Code of 1987) empowers the Civil Service and adopt plans and programs to policies, standards and guidelines for the Civil Service and adopt plans and programs to promote economical, efficient and effective personnel administration in the government;
WHEREAS, the Commission continuously reviews existing policies, standards and guidelines for the Civil Service to make it more relevant and effective;
WHEREAS, there is a need for the Commission to amend Section 8, Rule XVII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292 (Administrative Code of 1987) in order that the provision thereof will be in consonance with that of Sec. 22 (q) on grave offenses of the same Rules as amended by CSC MC No. 23, s. 1998;
WHEREFORE, foregoing premises considered, Section 8, Rule XVII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292 (1987 Administrative Code) and Other Pertinent Civil Service Laws is hereby amended to read as follows:

Thus, Section 8, Rule XVII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292 (Administrative Code of 1987) now read as follows:
SECTION 8. Officers and employees who have incurred tardiness and undertime, regardless of the number of minutes per day, ten (10) times a month for at least two (2) consecutive months during the year or for at least two (2) months in a semester shall be subject to disciplinary action.Adopted: 11 Aug.1998

Officers and employees who have incurred tardiness and undertime, regardless of the number of minutes per day, ten (10) times a month for at least two (2) consecutive months during the year or for at least two (2) months in o semester shall he subject to disciplinary action.This resolution shall take effect fifteen (15) day after publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
