IMPORTATION OF SMOKED PORK PRODUCTS FROM MALAYSIA INTO THE PHILIPPINES



In accordance with the OIE recommendations, Veterinary Quarantine Clearance for the importation of smoked pork products from Malaysia shall be issued subject to the presentation of an international zoo-sanitary certificate attesting that the entire consignment of meat comes from animals:

1)         which have been kept in a Classical Swine Fever (CSF) free zone or country since birth

2)         which have been kept in a Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) free zone or country since birth;

3)         slaughtered in a government accredited abattoir and found to be healthy before and after slaughter, and free from infectious diseases;

4)         the processed meat has been smoked for more than 2 hours for at least 70 Celsius; and

5)         the meat is safe and fit for human consumption.
