REVISED DEFINITION OF NEAR-COASTAL VOYAGES UNDER THE PHILIPPINE MERCHANT MARINE RULES AND REGULATIONS, 1997 (PMMRR ™97)



Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 474, and Executive Order No. 125, as amended, and in consonance with the Philippines ™ accession to the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), as amended, the definition of near coastal voyages as stipulated under Chapter I, Regulation 1/4 (59) of the PMMRR ™97 is hereby amended as follows:
œNear Coastal voyages means voyages which cover a maximum distance of two hundred (200) nautical miles from the Philippine baselines or voyages which by agreement between the Philippines and another state is considered or treated as coastwise voyage .
Repealing Clause

Any order, circular or rules and regulations inconsistent herewith is amended or repealed accordingly.

Effectivity

This Circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
