PROVIDING AND PRESCRIBING OTHER PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES/SOURCES FOR COMPLIANCE WITH CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS BY MARINE ENGINE OFFICERS



Due to the peculiar nature of the performance of the duties, functions and responsibilities of Marine Engineer Officers which must have to be done on board sea-going vessels, the CPE programs, activities/sources in the Matrix for such programs as provided in PRC Resolution No. 507* , s. 1997 could, except for a few, hardly be availed of by prospective providers.

No. 9 of the Matrix for CPE programs of PRC Res. No. 507, s. 1997, supra, however, allows CPE Councils to recommend other CPE programs, activities or sources for approval by the Commission that may be availed of, implemented or administered by prospective providers for the benefit of Marine Engine Officers.

WHEREFORE, the Continuing Professional Education Council (CPEC) of the Board of Marine Engine Officers hereby resolved to provide, prescribe and recommend to the Commission the following programs/activities or sources with their corresponding weights in credit units for adoption, implementation and administration of prospective CPE providers for the benefit of Marine Engine Officers:

This Resolution shall take effect after 15 days from publication in a newspaper of general circulation.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Maritime Training Council of the Philippines and Maritime Training Centers accredited by said Council, Accredited Professional Organization (APO) of Marine Engine Officers and other associations or organizations involved in the maritime industry, for dissemination to their members.
