AMENDMENTS TO DOST ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 006, SERIES OF 2000, GUIDELINES ON THE AVAILMENT OF BENEFITS UNDER RA 8439 (MAGNA CARTA FOR SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS, RESEARCHERS AND SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PERSONNEL IN GOVERNMENT) FOR S & T PERSONNEL NOT EMPLOYED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY



The following amendments to Sections 6 and 9 of DOST Administrative Order No. 006, Series of 2000 are hereby adopted:

SECTION 6.      REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION TO DOST 

The department/agency head shall submit to the Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) the list of personnel recommended for entitlement to MC benefits and with his/her certification that said personnel are found to have complied with the requirements under the Guidelines for R.A. 8439.  The list shall be accompanied with the following documents:
  1. Endorsement by head of department/agency

  2. Functions of the service/division/section/unit where the personnel belongs

  3. Certified true copy of diploma/s

  4. Certified true copy of academic transcript of records

  5. Certified true copies of service record

  6. Description of position and functions

  7. Certified true copy of CSC eligibility/ies, or PRC license/s

  8. Other relevant documents deemed important by the recommending agency.
SECTION 9.       EFFECTIVITY OF ENTITLEMENT

The certificate of entitlement to the benefits under R.A. No. 8439 issued by the DOST Secretary shall be valid for a period of one year.

Thereafter, the agency may apply for the renewal of certification on a yearly basis. Such application should be accompanied with the following documents:

a.         A report on the implementation of the benefits under R.A. 8439.  This report should include the list of employees who had been previously approved by DOST, indicating those who have resigned/retired.  Also, the specific benefits availed of by each approved individual must be indicated in the said report. (Annex A revised).

b.         In the case of employee's promotion/reassignment or in the event that the employee ™s position/functions are changed, the report should also indicate the description of the employee's new position/functions and the functions of the employee's new unit/station.

c.         A list of employees exposed to hazardous undertakings or assigned in hazardous workplaces as certified by the head of agency.

All other provisions of DOST Administrative Order NO. 006, series of 2000 shall remain valid.
