[ PRC RESOLUTION NO. 06 S. 1992, September 01, 1992 ]
PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED DIETITIAN TO REGISTER ANEW AS REGISTERED NUTRITIONIST-DIETITIAN
WHEREAS P.D. No. 1286: THE NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DECREE OF 1977 expressly repealed R.A. No. 2674, the law regulating the practice of dietetics;
WHEREAS under Section 16 of the repealing decree and Section 6 (e) of P.D. No. 223, the Board can issue a certificate of registration as a nutritionist-dietitian without examination subject to approval of the Commission to previously registered dietitians who, pursuant to Section 26 of the same repealing law, can retain their previous registration numbers;
WHEREAS the Board issued Resolution No. 14 on March 16, 1984, which allows the renewal of a professional license of a registered dietitian; and
WHEREAS the 793 out of 1,410 who are still registered dietitians should now be given the chance to register anew as nutritionist-dietitians.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of Section 4 (h) of P.D. 1286, the Board hereby RESOLVED, as it so resolves, that the professional licenses (or professional s license cards/professional registration cards) of Registered Dietitians be not anymore renewed and instead they be registered as nutritionist-dietitians subject to prior approval by the Board of their applications for registration without examination and, accordingly, issued their certificates of registration and their professional licenses as registered nutritionist-dietitians;
FURTHER, RESOLVED, the period for filing of the applications for registration without examination as Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians shall be for one (1) year to take effect from the date of effectivity of the herein Resolution (for those whose Professional License had expired prior to the date of effectivity of the resolution) or, for one (1) year from the date of expiry of the professional license following the effectivity of the herein resolution;
FINALLY, RESOLVED, the herein Resolution, upon approval by the Commission, shall be effective after fifteen (15) days following the full publication thereof in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation.
