[ PRC BOARD OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING RESOLUTION NO. 98, SERIES OF 1997, July 01, 1997 ]

REVISING THE SYLLABI FOR THE SUBJECTS IN THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND MASTER ELECTRICIAN LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS

WHEREAS, Section 4 (c), Article II of the same law empowers the Board of Electrical Engineering to prescribe the syllabi of the subjects and their relative weights in the licensure examinations for Electrical Engineers and Master Electricians;

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 19, issued by the Board on September 19, 1995, consisted of general topics and concepts in the licensure examinations, delineating the scope of the subjects from which the Board Members shall source their questions for inputting in the data bank and to serve as guide for schools and the examinees in their preparation for the licensure examinations;

WHEREAS, the first syllabi was considered by school faculty members and examinees too brief to fully provide the scope of the topics and items of the syllabi from which questions on the important principles, theories and concepts of mathematics, general sciences and electrical engineering are to be sourced;

WHEREAS, the Commission had earlier noted the conciseness of the first syllabi and suggested that it be expanded to include more details.

WHEREFORE, the Board hereby RESOLVED as it RESOLVES to revise the syllabi of the subjects in the Licensure Examinations for Electrical Engineers and Master Electricians and hereby adopts and promulgates a Revised Syllabi of Subjects in Licensure Examination for Electrical Engineers and Master Electricians appended hereto as Annex œA *.

This Resolution supersedes or repeals Resolution No. 19, s. 1995 of the Board of Electrical Engineering.

This Resolution shall, upon its approval by the Commission, become effective after fifteen (15) days from its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation, whichever is earlier.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished colleges and universities which offer courses in Electrical Engineering for dissemination to their graduates and students.
