[ GTEB MEMORANDUM 92-10, May 28, 1992 ]

AMENDMENT OF THE RP-US TEXTILE VISA ARRANGEMENT- MANUFACTURER'S IDENTIFICATION (M.I.D.)

Please be advised that in view of the amendment of the RP-US Textile Visa Arrangement, the complete name(s) and address(es) of the company(ies) actually involved in the full or substantial manufacture of the goods covered by the visa shall now be reflected in the textile visa document. All exporters therefore, are required to indicate the manufacturer(s) subcontractors involved in the commercial invoices upon application for textile visas covering shipments leaving the Philippines on or after 15 June, 1992.

The Guidelines are as follows:

1. The name(s) & address(es) of the company(ies) should be typed somewhere on the front of the commercial invoice (not within the area where the circular visa is usually stamped). Same should be preceded by the local "Manufacturer's Identification" or "M.I.D.". The M.I.D. refers to the full name of the company/ies which perform the substantial part of the manufacturing of the product or which account for 50% of more of the shipment, and the business address(es). The address should include the street name or P.O. Box No. (if available) and the city and/or province where the manufacturing occurred.

2. In case of a shipment containing products manufactured by a number of different companies, the names and addresses of the same shall be listed on the invoice to be visaed. If additional space is needed, the back of the invoice may be used. In such case, however, firms are advised to list only the ten (10) principal subcontractors.

3. In cases where the exporter is also the manufacture of the goods, the following shall be indicated in the invoice: M.I.D. - Same as Exporter.

4. Textile visas issued by GTEB prior to this memorandum covering airshipments to be effected on or after the specified implementation date should be replaced to include the œM.I.D

All exporters are advised to revise, if necessary their invoices to provide space or boxes for the M.I.D. requirement.

For strict compliance.
