[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8278, April 10, 1997 ]
AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY MARIBUYONG, MUNICIPALITY OF DUEÑAS, PROVINCE OF ILOILO, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. There shall be established, under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, a national high school in Barangay Maribuyong in the Municipality of Dueñas, Province of Iloilo, to be known as the Maribuyong National High School.
SEC. 2. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports is hereby directed to take such steps as may be necessary for the immediate implementation of this Act so as to make the school operational during the first academic year after the effectivity of this Act.
SEC. 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
Approved, Lapsed into law on April 10, 1997, without the signature of the President, in accordance Article VI, Section 27 (1) of the Constitution.
