Further to the provision of Memorandum Circular No. 8-7-98, the Commission hereby amends No. 2, Item 2.2 to read as œFire on board ship  and to include an additional provision under said paragraph to read as follows:

œ2.4   Preventive measures for the safety of ship and personnel in connection with hazards related to radio equipment, including electrical and non-ionizing radiation hazards .

Item No. 4.4 is amended to read as follows œPractical examination on plotting the azimuth, elevation and operational/regional satellite as well as the knowledge to transmit the alphabet by morse code through keyer, voice, light or by any other means of transmitting or communicating the code signals. 

With the above amendments, all other provisions in Memorandum Circular No. 8-7-98 stand.
