[ NTC MEMORANDUM, October 17, 1997 ]
AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 10-11-90
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7925 and its implementing rules and regulations under MC No. 8-9-95 and in order for the Commission to address the illegal use of Telephone Line Extenders, MC No. 10-11-90 is hereby amended to include the following:
Cordless telephones or telephone line extenders with coverage area beyond the 300 feet specified under MC No. 10-11-90 shall be governed by the following:
1.0 FREQUENCY RANGE AND OPERATING POWER
The telephone line extenders shall operate within the following parameters:
2.1 Only type-approved/type accepted telephone line extenders shall be sold/used.
2.2 Only duly authorized radio dealers and accredited CPE suppliers are permitted to sell the telephone line extenders only to duly authorized PTEs.
2.3 Only duly enfranchised and certificated Public Telecommunications Entities (PTE s) are allowed to utilize type-approved telephone line extenders for their authorized telecommunications services within their authorized local exchange areas.
The preceding section shall not apply to cordless telephones complying with the parameters specified in MC No. 10-11-90.
This circular may be modified/revised as the Commission deems necessary, and shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation and three (3) certified true copies forwarded to UP Law Center.

: 10 Watts (Maximum)
