SECOND REVISED SUGAR POLICY FOR CROP YEAR 1998-1999



WHEREAS, Section 4 of Sugar Order No. 1, Series of 1998-1999, dated 28 August 1998, provides that the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) shall undertake periodic assessments of the 1998-1999 sugar production and, on the basis of such assessments shall adjust from time to time the percentage distribution of the different classes of sugar;

WHEREAS. the quantity of sugar so far allocated to "A" or U.S. Quota sugar from the 1998-1999 crop plus the carry-over of "A" from the previous crop is sufficient to fill up the regular and additional allocation for the third or last tranche in our current U.S. Quota of Quota Year 1998-1999;

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the powers vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration, it is hereby ordered that;

SECTION 1. The percentage allocations for the various classes of sugar under Section 1 of Sugar Order No. 8, Series of 1998-1999, dated 15 March 1999 is hereby revised.

All sugar production covered by week-ending 09 May 1999 and every week-ending thereafter of Crop Year 1998-1999 shall be issued weekly quedan-permits by mill companies in the following classifications and percentages:

"A" or U.S. Quota Sugar - 0%
"B" or Domestic Sugar - 99%
"B-1" or Food Processors'/  
Exporters' Sugar - 1%
  ---
  100%,

SECTION 2. All other provisions of the aforesaid Sugar Order No. 1, Series of 1998-1999, shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 3. Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, and/or other rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with this Sugar Order, are hereby amended, modified or revoked accordingly.
