[ NFA ANNOUNCEMENT, February 06, 2004 ]
AMENDMENTS TO MEMO CIRCULAR AO -2-K3-12-002 DATED JANUARY 13, 2004
Upon approval of the NFA Council, be informed that amendments to Memo Circular AO -2-K3-12-002 dated January 13, 2004 under B (1) Provision are as follows:
A. Out of the 310,000 MT allowable rice import volume, 100,000 MT is allowed to arrive from date of publication but not later than July 31, 2004 at the designated discharge Philippine Ports, this shall be on a first-come-first-served basis which shall be determined by the payment of full tariff/duties. Likewise, a letter of intent to bring in not later than April 30, 2004 the imported volume shall be submitted to the Land Bank by the interested FOS.
B. The remaining 210,000 MT however, should arrive not earlier than May 1, 2004 and not later than July 31, 2004.
Penalty provisions however, remain the same for violations on early and late arrivals as the case maybe.
