WHEREAS, THAT THE BOARD OF MIDWIFERY ISSUED BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 665, DATED NOVEMBER 27, 1985

WHEREAS, that the Board of Midwifery issued Board Resolution No. 665, dated November 27, 1985 defining the guidelines in the Continuing Professional Education Program (CPE) for registered Midwives, approved by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and published in the Official Gazette, Vol. 81, dated December 16, 1985, page no. 5907.  That said Resolution was implemented starting in January, 1988.

WHEREAS, that during the period of implementation, the Board observed, there are organizations/associations of government Midwives working in health agencies that periodically give seminars to them to upgrade their knowledge and skill in order to learn the new technicalities applicable in the practice of their profession.

WHEREAS, that in order for the Midwives who attended the seminars be able to submit the certification of units earned to renew their professional ID cards, the Board of Midwifery requires that the program/seminar conducted by any health agency in government, must be in compliance with the approved Continuing Professional Education Program and should be accredited by the Board for record purposes; that the Certification of Attendance given to the participants should indicate therein the number of credit units earned in that particular seminar in order to determine that said Midwife has complied with the required credit units for the period of three years.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board, Resolved, as it hereby resolves, that after approval hereof by the Commission, this Resolution shall be widely disseminated by furnishing all health agencies/organizations/associations concerned for their proper information and guidance.
