FILIPINO CITIZENS IN ALLIED FORCES AND FOREIGN NATIONALS IN PHILIPPINE ARMY AND GUERILLA ORGANIZATIONS DURING WORLD WAR II
In the processing and adjudication of the claims for benefits under RA 6948 filed by FILIPINO CITIZENS who served in allied forces and FOREIGN NATIONALS who served in the Philippine Army and Guerilla organizations during World War II, the following guidelines shall be observed:
1. The effective period of World War II in the Philippines is from 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946. The forces of the Commonwealth of the Philippines officially concluded the Philippine Liberation Campaign on 3 September 1945 (Paragraph 19(g), AFPR G 131-052) and the forces of the United States of America officially concluded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign on 2 March 1946 (Paragraph 19(i), AFPR G 131-052), but Section 4, RA 6948 recognizes the period from 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946 as the duration of World War II military operations in the Philippines.
2. In accordance with Section 2(a), RA 6948 and Section 2(a), DND Department Order Number A-049, persons who served in either of the following categories within Philippine territorial limits between 8 December 1941 and 3 July 1946 are considered veterans of World War II:
3. The veterans referred to in Paragraph 2 and their dependents are eligible subject to other requirements, for certain benefits under RA 6948 unless they have received or are receiving similar benefits for the same considerations from other government funds or from the United States Government.
4. The service requirements for entitlement to specific benefits are as follows:

1. The effective period of World War II in the Philippines is from 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946. The forces of the Commonwealth of the Philippines officially concluded the Philippine Liberation Campaign on 3 September 1945 (Paragraph 19(g), AFPR G 131-052) and the forces of the United States of America officially concluded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign on 2 March 1946 (Paragraph 19(i), AFPR G 131-052), but Section 4, RA 6948 recognizes the period from 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946 as the duration of World War II military operations in the Philippines.

Foreign national in the military service of the Philippine Army or guerilla organizations recognized by the Republic of the Philippines. |
3. The veterans referred to in Paragraph 2 and their dependents are eligible subject to other requirements, for certain benefits under RA 6948 unless they have received or are receiving similar benefits for the same considerations from other government funds or from the United States Government.
4. The service requirements for entitlement to specific benefits are as follows:

Educational Benefits. The period of entitlement of a foreign national who served in the Philippine Army or in a recognized guerrilla organization will be computed in accordance with the provisions of Section 15 of DND Department Order Number A-049. A Filipino citizen who served in an allied unit within Philippine territorial limits is not eligible for educational benefit. |

Disability Pension. A veteran who is a foreign national who served in the Philippine Army or in a recognized guerilla organization must have been disabled owing to sickness, disease, wounds or injuries sustained in line of duty within Philippine territorial limits during the period 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946. A Filipino citizen who served in an allied unit within the Philippine territorial limits is not eligible for disability pension. |

Death Pension. A veteran must have died in line of duty within Philippine territorial limits during the period 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946 or must have died at any time after departure from Philippine territory or after honorable separation from the service as a result of wounds or injury received or sickness or disease incurred in line of duty or as a consequence of the performance of such duty within Philippine territorial limits during the period 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946. |

Old Age Pension, Hospitalization and Burial Benefits. A veteran must have participated in any engagement against the enemy or must have completed thirty (30) days of continuous service or sixty cumulative days of broken service within Philippine territorial limits during the period from 8 December 1941 to 3 July 1946. |
