NORTH MVIS, QUEZON CITY OR SOUTH MVIS, PASAY CITY CERTIFICATE OF ROADWORTHINESS OF ANY METRO MANILA TAXI UNITS AS A CONDITION TO REGISTRATION OF SAID METRO MANILA TAXI UNIT (DOTC D.O. 92-668)
In the interest of the riding public and for road safety, this Office shall inspect and determine the roadworthiness of vehicles by subjecting all taxi units in Metro Manila to the new MVIS.
Pursuant to DOTC Department Order No. 92-668 and effective January 1, 1993, only such taxi units in Metro Manila that passed the roadworthiness tests in either the North MVIS in Quezon City of the South MVIS in Pasay City shall be allowed to renew their registration.
Likewise, a taxi unit unfit for public service that is found plying or operating on the road shall be impounded and may be released only after payment of the corresponding fines/penalties. Furthermore, the Chief, LES with respect to the aforesaid NCR-based taxi unit shall forward a copy of the pertinent TAS Judgment together with the MVIS report to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board by way of an application for the suspension or cancellation of said unit s Certificate of Public Convenience.
Any and all issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby superseded/reversed.
