IMPORTATION OF COOKED MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS FROM CAMPOFRIO IN SPAIN



WHEREAS, the Philippine Department of Agriculture Mission to Spain, after a thorough investigation and evaluation of the meat inspection system and disease situation in the country found favorable conditions for meat importation.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO S. SEBASTIAN, Secretary of Agriculture, pursuant to quarantine authority vested in me by law, do hereby order that cooked meat for further processing and cooked processed meat products such as corned beef, ham, sausages, etc. and meat products that have undergone brine curing for at least six months are allowed to be imported and limited to such items solely originating from African Swine Fever, Swine Vesicular Disease and Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia disease free zones and presently existing CAMPOFRIO plants located in Madrid and Burgos Spain, subject to the rules and regulations of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) and National Meat Inspection Commission (NMIC) and subject further, to the provisions of DA Administrative Order No. 23, series of 1993.

Administrative Order No. 6-1, series of 1980 as amended and all other rules and regulations or parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
