WHEREAS, in the Dental Performance (Practical) Licensure Examination, the hereunder exercises with their respective weights are taken:

1. Cavity Preparation and Amalgam Filling	20%
2. Fixed Partial Denture	20%
3. Removable Partial Denture	20%
4. Complete Denture	40%

WHEREAS, the allocation of equal weight 25% to each exercise will insure time-saving for the Rating Division of the Commission In the computation of grades and will enable the Board Members to grade all the exercises fairly, accurately, and expeditiously;

WHEREAS, the primary basis of the equal weight for every subject is not the covered period of the exercise;

WHEREAS, the body composed of the Board, the Commission, the Academe, the Philippine Dental Association, and the Philippine Prosthodontic Society on August 25, 1993 at the Conference Room, Annex Building, Professional Regulation Commission agreed to adopt and enforce said weight of 25% for every exercise in the performance test;

WHEREAS, the Board under Sec. 10, Art. Ill, and Sees. 18 and 19, Art. IV of R.A. No, 4419: "The Philippine Dental Act of 1965" is empowered to prescribe the scope, conduct, grade, and release the results of the performance test and under Sec. 6 (g) of P.D. 223 to determine the appropriate passing general average rating, as it is not set forth in RA. No. 4419;

WHEREAS, this practical or performance test is not a part of the specialty exam so that the equal weight of 25% should be allotted for each exercise in the performance test.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board hereby RESOLVED, as it so RESOLVES, to amend the title or name of the exercise "Amalgam Filling" in the Dental Performance (Practical) Licensure Examination and allocate equal weight of twenty-five percent (25%) for each of the four (4) exercises:

RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the computation of the average rating therefore shall be arrived at by obtaining the sum or total of the four (4) exercises (100% for each) and dividing it by four (4).

RESOLVED, FURTHERMORE, that the herein resolution shall start its implementation or application in the January 1994 Dental Performance (Practical) Licensure Examination.

RESOLVED, FINALLY, that upon approval hereof by the Commission, this resolution shall be effective after (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation.
