Herewith is a copy of the Guidelines for Permissible News Stand, together with the design of a typical news stand that may be constructed on portion of the right-of-way of national roads in Metro Manila, for their information and guidance.
It is directed that any news stand constructed in violation of the aforesaid guidelines shall be removed/demolished after due notice to the owner thereof.

GUIDELINES FOR PERMISSIBLE NEWS STAND
1. News Stands shall not be allowed on sidewalks where the width of the sidewalk is less than 4.00 meters.
2. Distance of News Stand from street corners shall be not less than 5.00 meters.
3. Distance between News Stand shall be not less than 15 meters.
4. Distance from any fire hydrant shall be not less than 10 meters.
5. Edge of News Stand facing the curb shall be not more than 1.00 from the property line, leaving a clear width for pedestrians of 3.00 meters for sidewalks 4.00 meters wide with the corresponding increase in clear width as width of sidewalk increases.
6. News Stands shall not obstruct any traffic or road signs or visibility of motorists.
7. News Stands shall not obstruct pedestrian traffic.
8. News Stands shall not be placed inside loading and unloading zones or in waiting sheds.
9. News Stands shall be portable, with maximum width of 1.20 meters, depth of 1.00 meter and height of 2.00 meters.
10. News Stands shall be strictly for vending newspapers and/or magazines/comics/print media products.
11. When public interest so demands, News Stands shall be removed after due notice.
The Association shall police its own ranks in the enforcement/compliance with the foregoing requirements; otherwise, it will be a ground for relocation/demolition, as the case may be.
