AN ACT CONVERTING THE GOVERNOR MARIANO FUENTEBELLA MEMORIAL FISHERY SCHOOL IN BARANGAY NATO, MUNICIPALITY OF SAGÑAY, PROVINCE OF CAMARINES SUR, INTO A COLLEGE TO BE KNOWN AS THE GOVERNOR MARIANO FUENTEBELLA MEMORIAL COLLEGE OF FISHERIES, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The Governor Mariano Fuentebella Memorial Fishery School in Barangay Nato, Municipality of Sagñay, Province of Camarines Sur, is hereby converted into a college to be known as the Governor Mariano Fuentebella Memorial College of Fisheries, hereinafter referred to as the College.
SEC. 2. The College shall, in addition to secondary curriculum, offer collegiate courses especially in fishery, as well as vocational and technical courses, as may be authorized by the Commission on Higher Education.
SEC. 3. The assets, liabilities, personnel, equipment and records of the Governor Mariano Fuentebella Memorial Fishery School shall be transferred to the College.
SEC. 4. The Commission on Higher Education shall take such steps as are necessary for the conversion and operation of the College and the immediate implementation of this Act.
SEC. 5. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Governor Mariano Fuentebella Memorial Fishery School. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the College shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 6. Fees and charges, including government subsidies and other income generated by the College shall constitute special trust funds and shall be deposited in any authorized government depository bank, and all interests that shall accrue there from shall form part of the same funds for the use of the College.
The income generated by the College may, at the discretion of the College, be disbursed for the professional growth and development, health, welfare and other similar benefits of the faculty members and personnel, for extension and student welfare activities, and for expenses necessary for the attainment of its purposes under this Act.
SEC. 7. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
