WHEREAS, the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers, Inc. (PSME) is an organization composed of more than 12,000 registered mechanical engineer-members in 81 chapters and some 2,500 mechanical engineering student-members in 102 universities and colleges throughout the country;

WHEREAS, it is desirable to focus public attention on the important role of mechanical engineers in the development of the country and nation building; and

WHEREAS, the PSME will celebrate the œMechanical Engineering Month  in conjunction with their 60 th Diamond Anniversary and 60 th Annual National Convention on 23-26 October 2012 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO, III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of October 2012 as œMechanical Engineering Month. 

I call upon all mechanical engineers and students to give the observance of the œMechanical Engineering Month  their full support.
