SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM BIOMETRICS IDENTIFICATION (ID) CARDS



The Social Security System (SSS) has started issuing biometrics identification cards (ID) to the following:

    1. Active member - a person who has made at least one (1) month contribution to the SSS.

    2. Pensioner/Guardian - a person who is receiving monthly disability, retirement of survivor's pension (i.e. spouse and guardians) from the SSS.

    3. Dependent - a child receiving dependent's pension from SSS on account of the member's retirement, total disability or death.

Applications for Social Security ID are currently being accepted at the SSS POEA Branch and all other local SSS branch office nationwide as well as the SSS representative offices at the Philippine Embassies in Riyadh, Brunei, HongKong, Kuwait, London, Qatar and Taipei.

Applicants for the SSS ID are required to present any of the following identification documents: passport, Professional Regulation Commission Card, Seafarer's Identification and Record Book (SIRB), valid driver's license.

In the absence of the above documents, the applicant can present any two (2) of the following documents with at least one document with the individual's photo:

 

- Alien Certificate of Registration
- Birth Certificate
- Certification from the Office of Southern/Northern Cultural Communities/Office of the Muslim Affairs
- Fisherman's Card issued by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)
-GSIS Member's Record
-Health or Medical Card
- ID Card issued by Professional Associations recognized by Professional Regula tion Commission (PRC)
- Major Credit Card
- Marriage Contract
- Old GSIS ID Card
- Old SS ID Card
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ID Card
- Police Clearance
- Postal ID
- Savings Account Passbook
- Senior Citizen Card
- SS Blue Card for Company Representative
- Transcript of Records
- TIN Card
- Valid NBI Clearance
- Voter's ID

The Processing of new SS ID cards takes about a month and applicants will be notified via text message or phone call of the arrival of their respective ID cards.
