[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8843, August 22, 2000 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE RAJA SOLIMAN HIGH SCHOOL IN THE THIRD DISTRICT OF MANILA INTO A NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE RAJA SOLIMAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Raja Soliman High School in the Third District of Manila is hereby converted into a national science and technology high school to be known as the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School.

SEC. 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 3. The Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School shall offer secondary, vocational and technological courses and a skills training program.

SEC. 4. All personnel, records, assets and liabilities of the Raja Soliman High School are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School.

SEC. 5. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Raja Soliman High School. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the continuous operation and maintenance of the Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on August 17, 1999 and June 5, 2000,  respectively.
