[ PRC BOARD OF DENTISTRY RESOLUTION NO. 15 s. 1993, October 27, 1993 ]
PROVIDING OF PATIENTS BY SCHOOL/S OR VENUE/S OF DENTAL PRACTICAL LICENSURE EXAMINATION
WHEREAS on August 25, 1993, the body composed of the Board, the Commission, the Academe, the Philippine Prosthodontic Society, and the Philippine Dental Association agreed that patients in "Complete Denture Construction" be supplied by the dental school/s-venue/s of the Dental (Practical) Licensure Examination;
WHEREAS the Foregoing set-up will insure the hereunder benefits, to wit:
1. The patient will be thoroughly screened by the Prosthodontic Department of each dental school where the performance test will take place.
2. Fees charged to the candidate of the examination will be standardized, thus eliminating middlemen who charge more or have a greater than the patients.
3. Orderly conduct of the examination can take place, since the distribution of patients will be facilitated and since the candidates will receive their seat number from the Examination Division early on the day.
4. The candidates will be more at ease, inasmuch as their patients are screened already of abnormalities or contraindications the successful construction of a complete denture by the schools or venues of examination.
5. Examinees who are graduates of dental schools/colleges outside Metro Manila will save themselves from the expenses for bringing their own patients who came from their provinces; and
WHEREAS the Board and the Commission have joint charge over the conduct of the Dental Licensure Examination (Sec. 19 (a) of the "Rules and Regulations Governing the Regulation and Practice of Professionals").
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of Sec. 10, Art. III of R.A. No. 4419, "The Philippine Dental Act of 1965", the Board hereby RESOLVED, as it so RESOLVES, that school/s-venue/s of the Dental (Practical) Licensure Examination provide the patients in "Complete Denture Construction".
FURTHER, RESOLVED, that a Memorandum Circular be issued to all the colleges/schools of Dentistry in the Philippines with the guidelines on the implementation of the herein resolution.
FINALLY, RESOLVED, that this Resolution, upon approval hereof by the Commission, shall be effective after fifteen (15) days following the publication thereof in the Official Gazette or newspaper of general circulation.
