[ BOC CUSTOMS MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 42-2010, October 13, 2010 ]
REITERATION ON THE USE OF MAGNA SCALE AS DIRECTED UNDER CMO NOS. 130-88 AND 8-2004
To ensure that the optimum revenue is collected from shipments on which the assessment of duties, taxes and other charges are based on weight, all Customs personnel concerned are directed to strictly comply with CMO No. 130-88 and CMO No. 8-2004 on the mandatory Magna Scale weighing of shipments subject thereof prior to their release from Customs custody.
In addition to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, AOCG, the Ports Operations Service shall also be provided with the monthly report submission of all shipments subjected to Magna Scale weighing following the format prescribed in Section 5 of CMO 8-2004, including copies of the print out/ticket of the Magna Scale ticket for purposes of compliance with the said directive/s.
Failure of any Customs official/employee to comply with his/her responsibility/ ies as delineated under CMO 8-2004 and this Order shall subject said Customs official/ employee to the corresponding sanctions as prescribed therein.
