[ PHILRACOM RESOLUTION NO. 06-10, S. OF 2010, April 14, 2010 ]
IMPORTATION OF HORSES
WHEREAS, the Philippine Racing Commission (PHILRACOM) has the exclusive jurisdiction and control over all aspects of horseracing including the framing and scheduling of races as provided in Presidential Decree No. 420;
WHEREAS, the PHILRACOM supports and aims to improve the breed of Philippine horses;
WHEREAS, the support to locally bred horses consists in providing ready market to the said locally-bred horses aside from putting up races exclusively for the local horses;
WHEREAS, as a show of support to the locally-bred horses and their owners, importation of horses from other countries should be allowed only after the horse owner/importer should have bred or otherwise should have in his ownership at least three (3) locally-bred horse/s; however, restriction shall not apply if the horse owner shall import a pregnant mare or a stallion/s.
NOW THEREFORE, the PHILRACOM resolved, as it hereby resolves, to allow a horse owner to import horses from other countries only after he has bred or otherwise has in his ownership at least three (3) locally-bred horses effective June 1, 2010.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the horse owners and all persons concerned for their proper guidance.
