[ PRC BOARD FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS RESOLUTION NO. 2009-22, May 28, 2009 ]
RETENTION OF THE SUBJECT AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES ARTS AS SPECIALIZATION ON THE LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR TEACHERS
WHEREAS, Sec. 14, Art. III of R.A. 7836, otherwise known as, The Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994, As Amended, provides that the examination in the secondary level shall consist of three (3) parts, namely: General Education, Professional Education, and Field of Specialization;
WHEREAS, in the September 2009 Licensure Examination for Teachers, to match the LET with the new curriculum, a test in Technology and Education combines Industrial Arts, Home Economics and Business Technology;
WHEREAS, the integration of Industrial Arts and Related Disciplines, Home Economics, and Business Technology as one field of specialization, namely Technology Education but excluded Agriculture and Fisheries Arts as a separate subject;
WHEREAS, the holders of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education who previously qualified for LET cannot be given any test in specialization;
WHEREAS, a degree of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education is still offered as a four-year-course and the graduates used to qualify in the secondary test with specialization subject in Agriculture and Fisheries Arts.
WHEREFORE, the Board resolves as it hereby resolved to retain the subject Agriculture and Fisheries Arts in the future Licensure Examination for Teachers;
FURTHER RESOLVED, that in retaining the test in Agriculture and Fisheries Arts the old specifications for the subject will be used.
FINALLY RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall take effect fifteen (15) days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of national circulation.
