[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8969, October 27, 2000 ]
AN ACT DECLARING THE THIRD (3RD) FRIDAY OF AUGUST OF EVERY YEAR AS A SPECIAL WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR THE CITY OF DAVAO
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The third (3rd) Friday of the month of August of every year is hereby declared as a special working public holiday for the City of Davao.
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on August 16, 2000 and June 8, 2000, respectively.
