[ MTRCB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 94-024, September 05, 1995 ]

CLASSIFICATION OF FOREIGN MOVIES

We are reminding all foreign movie distributors of MTRCB Circular No. 93-013.

This memo circular prohibits the practice of showing the classification or rating of a foreign film given by its mother country at the start or end of the film. It serves no purpose but to confuse the Filipino audience.

We have noticed this recently in some movies being shown in the theaters. This must stop once and for all. If any movie wishes to carry the classification or rating of the film, only the rating given by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) can be used.

We look forward to your cooperation.
