[ PRC BOARD OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE RESOLUTION NO. 03, S. 2005, June 15, 2005 ]

RESOLUTION REQUIRING REGISTERED AND LICENSED LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS TO SUBMIT THEIR VALID CERTIFICATES OF PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS, INC. (PALA) MEMBERSHIP AND OFFICIAL RECEIPTS FOR ANNUAL/LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP DUES AS A PREREQUISITE FOR ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF REGISTRATION AND PROFESSIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS AS LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OR FOR RENEWAL OF THE FOREGOING CARDS



WHEREAS, Sec. 28. Integration of the Landscape Architecture Profession, Art. V of R.A. No. 9053, œThe Philippine Landscape Architecture Act of 2000 , states, inter alia, to wit:

 

œThe Landscape Architecture profession shall be integrated into one (1) national organization which shall be accredited by the Board subject to the approval by the Commission as the one and only integrated and accredited association of Landscape Architects. A Landscape Architect duly registered with the Board shall automatically become a member of the integrated national organization and shall receive the benefits and privileges provided for in this Act upon payment of the required fees and dues. Membership in the integrated organization shall not be a bar to membership in other associations of Landscape Architects. 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Board Res. No. 2, Series of 2003, the Board of Landscape Architecture subject to approval by the Commission accredited the PALA as the integrated and accredited national professional organization of landscape architects; henceforth, a landscape architect duly registered and licensed with the Board and the Commission shall automatically become a member of PALA and, accordingly, he/she is entitled to œreceive the benefits and privileges provided for and described in its by-laws upon payment of required fees and dues  (Rule 52, Art. XIII of Board Res. No. 01, Series of 2002, the œIRR of the Philippine Landscape Architecture Act of 2000 )

WHEREAS, there is a need to bind all registered and licensed architects who are automatic members of the PALA under the law and the IRR to register with the PALA as members thereof.

WHEREAS, the submission of Certificate of PALA Membership together with the Official Receipt of the membership dues before the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card or the renewal of the foregoing card will address the eventual membership with the PALA and the payment thereto of the membership dues by those registered and licensed landscape architects who are not yet bona fide members at the time of the said issuance or renewal.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board hereby resolved, as it now resolves, to require a registered and licensed landscape architect to submit his/her valid certificate of PALA membership bearing, among others, his/her PALA membership number together with the official receipt of payment for his/her PALA membership dues (lifetime or annual), prior to issuance of the Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card or to the renewal of the foregoing card.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, the President of PALA furnish the PRC Registration Division a copy of the updated official registry of bona fide PALA members indicating their membership and annual or lifetime dues official receipt numbers;

RESOLVED, FURTHERMORE, the Commission provide quarterly a copy of the latest list of Registered and Licensed Landscape Architects to PALA.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its full and complete publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.

Let copy hereof be furnished to the Chief, PRC Registration Division, the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects, Inc. (PALA), the PRC Regional Directors for dissemination to all concerned.
