DECLARING THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 6 TO 12, 2003 AS "HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT WEEK"



WHEREAS, the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) will hold its 40th Annual Conference on October 8 to 11, 2003 at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City, with the theme "Towards a New Horizon: Creating Positive Futures Together in Times of Adversity ;

WHEREAS, the conference will focus on a more wholistic social responsibility for the human resource practitioner during these challenging times;

WHEREAS, there is a need to recognize the commitment of the Human Resource Management practitioners to the development and promotion of the country's human resource; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the significance of Human Resource Management (HRM) in attaining the highest potential of Filipinos as managers, as workers, and as empowered and technology-proficient citizens of a new country of economic growth and social progress.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period of October 6 to 12, 2003, as "Human Resource Management Week" under the auspices of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
