DECLARING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2013 AS œPHILIPPINE WUSHU MONTH 



Whereas, The Year 2013 Marks The 100 Th Anniversary Of The Asian Games, The Precursor Of Which, The Far Eastern Games, Was First Held In The Philippines;

Whereas, The Philippines Will Host, Through The Wushu Federation Philippines, The Asian Junior Wushu Championships From 8 To 12 August 2013;

Whereas, The Junior Wushu Championships Will Be Participated In By 38 Member-Countries With An Expected Attendance Of A Sizable Number Of Athletes And Officials That Will Likewise Serve As An Opportunity To Showcase The Country As A Major Tourist Destination;

Whereas, Wushu Is Among The Ten (10) Priority Sports Of The Government; And

Whereas, It Is Appropriate To Promote Wushu In The Country And Strengthen The Philippines ™ Support To The Bid Of The International Wushu Federation For The Inclusion Of The Said Sport In The Olympic Games.

Now, Therefore, I, Benigno S. Aquino, III, President Of The Philippines, By Virtue Of The Powers Vested In Me By Law, Do Hereby Declare The Month Of August 2013 As œPhilippine Wushu Month. 

All Departments, Agencies And Instrumentalities Of The National Government, Including State Universities And Colleges (Sucs), Government-Owned And -Controlled Corporations (Goccs) And Local Government Units (Lgus), Are Hereby Enjoined To Support And Extend The Necessary Assistance In The Observance Of The œPhilippine Wushu Month. 

In Witness Whereof, I Have Hereunto Set My Hand And Caused The Seal Of The Republic Of The Philippines To Be Affixed.
