[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1727-A, October 08, 1980 ]
PROHIBITING AND PENALIZING THE GRANT OF PERMITS FOR THE HOLDING OF PUBLIC RALLIES, DEMONSTRATIONS, ASSEMBLIES AND SIMILAR MEETINGS TO PERSONS FOUND GUILTY OF REBELLION, SEDITION OR SUBVERSION WHO HAVE NOT BEEN GRANTED AMNESTY THEREFOR, AND TO PERSONS CHARGED WITH ANY OF SAID CRIMES.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree as follows:
SECTION 1. No permit to hold public rallies, mass demonstrations, assemblies and similar meetings shall be granted to persons who have been found guilty of rebellion, sedition or subversion, and who have not been granted amnesty therefor, or to persons who have pending charges of any of the aforesaid crimes.
SEC. 2. The penalty of prision correccional in its medium period to prision mayor in its maximum period shall be imposed upon any public officer or employee who violates the provisions of this decree.
SEC. 3. Any provision of law, rule or regulation contrary to or in conflict with this decree shall be considered, and is, hereby, repealed or modified accordingly.
SEC. 4. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
