[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 330, July 12, 1988 ]
CALLING THE CORDILLERA REGIONAL ASSEMBLY TO A SPECIAL SESSION, CLARIFYING ITS RESPONSIBILITY, PROVIDING FUNDS FOR ITS 1988 OPERATIONS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the President has appointed a sufficiently large proportion of the members of the Cordillera Regional Assembly to enable it to be convened and conduct its business, and this is also the desire of its members;
WHEREAS, to enable the Cordillera Regional Assembly to conduct its business it is necessary to clarify its duties and responsibilities, in the light of the size and nature of its membership, the brief time allotted for its regular session, and the fact that it possesses an implementing arm, the Cordillera Executive Board, which is in continuous operation;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide resources for the 1988 operations of the Cordillera Regional Assembly out of the funds appropriated by Congress for the whole Cordillera Administrative Region which are now in the custody of its implementing arm;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:
SECTION 1. A special session of the Cordillera Regional Assembly shall be held in the City of Baguio on July 14, 1988 at ten o'clock in the morning.
SECTION 2. Undersecretary Ramon K. Katigbak of the Department of Finance is authorized to convene the Cordillera Regional Assembly and preside at the special session until a presiding officer is selected by the Assembly for this special session.
SECTION 3. In the discharge of its functions and responsibilities under Executive Order No. 220, Series of 1987, the Cordillera Regional Assembly shall be assisted by the Cordillera Executive Board through:
SECTION 4. The Cordillera Executive Board is hereby directed to release to the Cordillera Regional Assembly the sum of one million one hundred twenty five thousand pesos (P1,125,000.00) to cover all the operations of the Cordillera Regional Assembly, which sum shall be allocated as follows for each and every member of the Cordillera Regional Assembly: per diem of five hundred pesos (P500.00) per day for five days; honorarium of one thousand pesos (P1,000.00) and actual traveling expenses not to exceed one thousand pesos (P1,000.00).
SECTION 5. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
